Brandwein & Smolin is a law firm established in June, 1986 engaged in the practice of criminal and civil litigation. Our practice includes trial litigation in both state and federal courts including traffic, misdemeanor, felony, personal injury, civil rights offenses, police brutality, business and real estate offenses. In addition we represent clients before administrative boards including police and fire discipline and pension hearings and social security disability cases. We have obtained outcomes for individual clients in excess of a million dollars. Brandwein & Smolin also handles appeals in federal and state court.
Bruce Brandwein
Bruce Brandwein has been licensed to practice law in Illinois and Federal Courts since 1978. Prior to being an attorney he was a Police Officer with the City of Hickory Hills, Illinois for five years. After becoming an attorney Bruce was an Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney for seven years. While there he handled appeals, traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases including over seventy jury trials. The felony cases he prosecuted included murder, rape, armed robbery, drug cases and other property and violent crime offenses.
After leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office, Bruce expanded his practice to include not only criminal defense but also a wide variety of civil litigations matters including personal injury, real estate, business disputes, police and fire pension and disciplinary hearings as well as hearings before administrative agencies.
David Smolin
David Smolin is a graduate of Cornell University and Boston University School of Law. David has been licensed to practice law in Illinois and Federal Courts since 1978 and has devoted his practice to general civil litigation. He handles real estate, contract, business disputes, personal injury, evictions and a wide variety of matters before various administrative boards, including social security disability cases, police pension applications, and building code violations.
